We value your privacy and we make it a point not to ask for personally identifying information that we don't really need.

Matariki Forests and its related entities, Matariki Forests Trading Limited and Rayonier New Zealand Limited (“RMF”, “we”, “us” or “our”) understands the importance of keeping your personal information secure and private. We will handle all personal information that you have provided to us in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Additionally, as a subsidiary of NYSE listed Rayonier Inc (www.rayonier.com) we are bound by the provisions of the Rayonier Inc Privacy Policy[1]

This Privacy Policy sets out our and your rights and obligations in relation to personal information that you may provide, either when using the RMF website available at www.matarikiforests.co.nz or the RMF online induction system (individually or together “our Sites”) or in the course of our normal business activities[2].

We collect personal information from you.  This may include your:

Log Files

  • Firstly, relevant RMF field staff, security contractors and first responders if appropriate, in order to ensure safety of visitors and contractors whilst on our estates, along with the protection of property and plant and equipment.
  • Secondly, credit reference agencies or other credit providers;
  • And thirdly, government and regulatory authorities.

If you choose not to provide the information sought, we may be unable to assist you with your inquiry.

Storage and Retention of Personal information

We are committed to keeping personal information secure. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information provided by you is protected from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Once your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we will take all reasonable steps to delete or destroy it.

Access and Correction of your personal information

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.

Disclosure to overseas recipients

We may disclose your Personal Information to service providers who are located outside of the country where you are based, such as cloud storage providers. Our service providers are located overseas,currently in Australia. RMF employee personal information is also stored with and may be accessed by our parent company, Rayonier Inc in the USA.

We will ensure that personal information transferred overseas from the country where you are based is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act.

Third party terms

Our Sites may contain third party links leading to other websites that are not managed by us and which may not follow the same privacy policies that we adopt. Where you click on a link you understand that you will commence dealing with a third party that we are unable to control. Your dealing when on that linked site will be subject to the terms that the owner of that site wishes to offer. We recommend that you check any relevant privacy policies before providing your personal information to any third party.

Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last updated December 2023. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and if we do, we will post the updated policy on our Site. The date it was last updated is set out below. If you do not accept the contents of this Privacy Policy, please do not provide us with your personal information.
